In both pieces is a drawing from etching class a rendition of a Harlem Renaissance painting. This has nothing to do with photography, but it is a piece of work I produced after many failed attempts from previous plates. Overall printmaking class made me think in a different way from photography. I revisited some themes that has had and still has a huge impact on me “The Harlem Renaissance”. These pieces purpose is solely based off of inspiration and courage to keep making art no matter the many failed attempts. This sparked motivation and inspiration within me. The reason being that I am interested in the Harlem Renaissance is because of the energy and the hunger people had to educate themselves and express themselves in positive ways. The passion for education and empowering one self was evident. This gives me hope to keep the momentum for my art making.
